LG PC Suite was LG's official Windows companion app for file transfer, contact backup, and sync. LG discontinued both LG PC Suite and its replacement LG Bridge in April 2021 when it exited the smartphone market. Archived versions still work on Windows 10 and 11 and are available for download below.
What Is LG PC Suite?
LG PC Suite was LG Electronics' official PC companion software for managing LG Android phones from a Windows computer. Launched in 2012, it gave users a desktop interface to transfer photos, music and files, back up contacts and messages, sync calendars, and check for firmware updates — without needing to navigate the phone's screen directly.
In 2016, LG replaced PC Suite with a redesigned application called LG Bridge, which offered a cleaner interface and better Windows 10 compatibility. When LG exited the smartphone market in April 2021, both applications were discontinued and removed from LG's official download servers. However, archived versions of both programs still work correctly on Windows 10 and 11 for existing LG phone owners.
Key features shared by both LG PC Suite and LG Bridge include:
- File transfer — photos, music, videos, documents between phone and PC
- Contact backup and restore to PC
- Music and photo sync management
- Firmware update checker (offline, based on connected device)
- Message backup (SMS/MMS)
- App management — install and uninstall APKs from PC

Many users searching for "LG PC Suite" are actually looking for LG Bridge, which replaced it in 2016. The two applications serve the same purpose but are designed for different LG phone generations. Use this comparison to determine which one is right for your device.

Recommendation: If your LG phone is a G5, G6, V20, V30, V40, V50, or any model from 2016 onward, download LG Bridge. For G4 and older models, LG PC Suite is the better fit — though LG Bridge may also work on some G4 units.

How to Install LG Bridge on Windows 10/11
Installation is straightforward. The process takes about three minutes. Make sure your LG USB drivers are installed before you connect the phone.
- Download LG Bridge from the section above.
- Run the installer (
LGBridge_Setup.exe) as Administrator — right-click the file and select "Run as administrator."
- Follow the on-screen installation wizard. Accept the license agreement and choose your installation directory (the default is fine for most users).
- Connect your LG phone to the PC via USB cable once installation is complete.
- On your phone, when the USB connection prompt appears, select File Transfer (also shown as MTP on some models). Do not select "Charging only" — LG Bridge requires File Transfer mode to communicate with the device.
- LG Bridge will launch automatically (or open it from the Start Menu) and detect your phone. Your device name and storage information should appear in the LG Bridge interface within a few seconds.
Driver note: If LG Bridge doesn't detect your phone after step 6, install the
LG USB driver package first, then reconnect the phone.
Common LG PC Suite and LG Bridge Issues
Most problems with LG PC Suite and LG Bridge come down to USB drivers or the phone's connection mode. Here are the three most frequent issues.
LG phone not detected in LG Bridge
The most common cause is missing USB drivers. LG Bridge requires the same LG USB driver package used by LG Flash Tool. Install the driver package, then reconnect the phone. Even if Windows shows the phone for charging, the MTP file transfer interface requires the LG driver to be present.
LG Bridge connects but shows "No device found" or device disappears
Check the USB mode on your phone. Pull down the notification shade and tap the USB connection notification — it should say "File Transfer" or "MTP." If it says "Charging" or "USB Charging," tap it and switch to File Transfer mode. LG Bridge cannot communicate with the device in Charging-only mode.
LG PC Suite won't install on Windows 10 or 11
LG PC Suite was designed for Windows 7 and 8. To run it on Windows 10/11, right-click the installer, select Properties, click the Compatibility tab, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 8. Then run the installer. After installation, apply the same compatibility mode setting to the LG PC Suite shortcut itself.
LG PC Suite Alternatives
Since LG exited the smartphone market in 2021, many users have moved to more actively maintained alternatives for managing LG phone files on Windows. These work with any Android phone including all LG models.
Windows File Explorer (simplest): Connect your LG phone via USB, set the connection mode to File Transfer, and the phone appears as a drive in File Explorer. You can drag and drop photos, music and documents directly. No software installation required — works on Windows 10 and 11 out of the box.
ADB (Android Debug Bridge): A command-line tool from Google that gives full access to the phone file system, app installation, and debugging. Requires LG USB drivers and enabling USB Debugging on the phone (Settings → Developer Options). Best for advanced users who need automation or scripting.
For users who only need to transfer photos, Windows File Explorer via USB is the most reliable option for LG phones today. LG Bridge remains useful for contact and message backup, which File Explorer does not handle natively.
